Women's March New

Dear Friend,

On January 21, our sisters from all across the nation are gathering in Washington, D.C. to send a message to the incoming administration that women's rights are human rights. We are joining them in solidarity in Birmingham, Alabama.

In the past year, we witnessed women being reduced to ugly and harmful stereotypes, targets of hate speech and crimes, legislated against, misrepresented for their beliefs, and deprived of their constitutional rights. Did you?

We witnessed our conversations revolving around racism, sexism, nativism, Islamophobia, and xenophobia, and we decided that keeping silent was not an option. Did you?

While so many people across the world try to speak for Muslim women, we're speaking for ourselves in Alabama.

This is a call to action for every woman, mother, daughter, grandmother, college student, high school student, home-maker, or professional who has been moved by the recent election cycle's anti-Muslim, xenophobic rhetoric.

We are standing up and speaking out. We are joining a movement. We are standing in solidarity with every community that has come under attack in the campaign cycle. Will you?

In peace and solidarity,

Team,
CAIR-Alabama
