Tuesday’s Executive Order follows policies that will increase the deportation of undocumented immigrants and begin the construction of a wall on the U.S. – Mexico border. Today’s orders are meant to restrict immigration from Syria and six other Middle Eastern and African countries, impose an ideological litmus test on immigrants, temporarily ban most refugees from entry to the United States, and halt the Syrian refugee program indefinitely.

These orders will be the actual implementations of several highly controversial campaign promises by then candidate Donald Trump, such as the border wall with Mexico and the “Muslim Ban.”
