Know Your Rights BIS
At the urgent request of Birmingham Islamic Society, CAIR-Alabama will hold a Know Your Rights discussion at Hoover Crescent Islamic Center today, Friday, February 17 at 7:45 PM. The discussion will be led by CAIR-Alabama Executive Director Khaula Hadeed and Adelante Alabama Worker Center Executive Director Jessica Vosburgh.
This event is in response to the recent immigration executive orders and the legal challenges that ensued as a result. An additional executive order with grave implications for the Muslim community is expected to be issued later this month. If you are in the Birmingham area, we encourage you to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
Topics will include the current legal and political environment as it relates to immigration, the Muslim travel ban, and customs and border issues. The focus will be on courses of actions that CAIR-Alabama recommends you take in specific immigration-related situations.
If you would like to schedule a Know Your Rights workshop at your center or organization anywhere in Alabama, please contact CAIR-AL by phone at 205-313-6489 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
