(Birmingham, AL, 8/15/2017) – This evening, local faith, civic, and community leaders will take part in an interfaith rally at historic Linn Park against hate and stand in solidarity with the anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville Virginia to commemorate the sacrifice of past civil rights leaders who stood defiant in the face of bigotry, racism, and white supremacy. The rally has been organized by #StandAsOne coalition partners.

We stand firm and united against this act of domestic terrorism targeting anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, and urge our fellow Americans to denounce the ideology of hate that is promoted by white supremacists and racists. We believe this is a unique moment in our contemporary history and a time to step forward without fear and raise our voices in unison to stand as one against all forms of hate.
